Special Feature about the School and Students
Everything about this school, staff and children is indeed special. One thing that visitors notice is that this place has God’s presence for it is filled with love. We have 50 children of all ages ranging from as young as 6-7 years to a few that are almost of adult age of 20. They are of different background but all had some form of handicaps – be it of physical, mental nature, or emotional, some had them from birth, while others were caused by trauma or abuse of some sort. Due to the overall poverty, lack of medical knowledge and insufficient medical supply and support, these children were basically overlooked and forgotten by the society, till they had a chance to attend our school.
This establishment is very labor intensive and costly if one looks at $/per person and yet, this is where one can really understand God’s grace. Each student needs extra tender loving care (TLC). If not for God’s love instilled in each of our staff, no one can handle this job because it requires endless patience, kindness and goodness that can only be from God.
In our school, the students are being taught of basic reading and writing skills and also life skills such as sewing, cooking and woodwork etc. They learn how to take care of themselves, and not to be a burden to their families and society. The most important lesson they learn is that God loves each one of them and they can depend on Him.
.
Graduates – We have one graduate from Kemin School that went on to attend a cooking school and after graduation, he returned just last year to join our cooking staff.
School Competition, Awards – MCCF encourages all schools to participate in our bible competition that is held annually. Kemin school selects representatives to attend such events.
Community Involvement and Service – Kemin School has a group of students that love to sing and dance. They perform in a choir and also with dances for special events all throughout the year. Some of them learn to be rather skillful with crafts and woodworks which are often offered as gifts for MCCF’s visitors as appreciation for their donations and supports.
